Representative Sampling from Material Travelling on a Conveyor Belt
Designed for conveyor-belt applications, the Go-Belt® Cross-Belt Sampler traverses the conveyed material stream to obtain representative sample increments without requiring the primary material stream to be diverted from the conveyor. It is developed and manufactured by South African OEM T.K.O Engineering.
Cross-belt sampling and cross-stream sampling are different sampling configurations and are not interchangeable. Selecting the correct configuration depends on the process stream, the installation point and the sampling requirements of each application.
The sampler traverses the full width of the conveyed material stream, obtaining sample increments from material carried on the belt.
This page describes the Go-Belt® Cross-Belt Sampler.
The sampler intercepts the full stream of falling material, most commonly at a transfer point between conveyors, rather than extracting from material carried on the belt.
This configuration is handled by a separate product — the Go-Belt® Linear Cross-Stream Sampler.
Simple, reliable, representative cross-belt sampling.
Material on Conveyor
Bulk material moves along the conveyor belt at operational speed, ready for sampling.
Cross-Belt Cutter
The cutter traverses the conveyed material stream to obtain a representative sample increment.
Sample Discharge
The collected sample is discharged through a chute into the sample handling and collection arrangement.
Sample Collection
The sample is prepared and collected for process control and metallurgical accounting.
The Go-Belt® Cross-Belt Sampler is engineered for representative cross-belt sampling in demanding mining environments.

Proprietary design — benefits described; detailed mechanical design and internal calculations are not disclosed.
Go-Belt® equipment is configured according to the individual sampling application. Sampler configuration, interfaces and the surrounding sample-handling arrangement are engineered to suit the material stream and sampling duty of each project.
T.K.O Engineering assesses each Cross-Belt Sampler application individually and determines the appropriate equipment configuration according to the material stream, installation conditions and sampling duty. Please contact T.K.O Engineering to discuss your specific requirements.
